Description

You know the lotus as a sacred water plant representing calm and serenity. The lotus, also called the sacred lotus or the oriental lotus, is often present in the divine representations of oriental religions. It is a plant with a rich history and meaning for some cultures. If when you think of the lotus you imagine a delicate flower on a lake, it is less common to imagine the fruit that emerges. In fact, when the lotus flower matures, the pistil grows a "false fruit" that serves as a protector for real, seed-like fruits. It is the large honeycombed fruit, dotted with holes that housed its seeds and perched on a long rigid stem, which gives the lotus in its dry state. The brown, almost black color of the dried lotus allows it to add relief and texture to a classic bouquet. Alone in a vase, the dried lotus also looks great in an interior. For DIY creations, the head of the dried lotus can be separated from the stem to add to your projects, a wall, a plant frame or a wreath. The dried lotus is strong in its originality, with an otherworldly look, it is definitely one of a kind and will give your creations an original design.

General recommendations

Dried flowers require minimal maintenance. Phocealys advises you :

  • Do not expose your dried flowers directly to the sun, as direct exposure could damage the colour of your bouquets
  • To remove dust from your dried bouquets, wipe them lightly with a cloth to avoid damaging them. You can also use a hairdryer, as long as the air is cold and you do not blow too close to the bouquet

If you follow these tips, your dried flowers will last almost forever!
