Description

Anti-UV Preserved Mountain Fern – A natural plant designed for very bright interiors

Bring texture, depth and a long-lasting botanical presence to your creations with our Anti-UV Preserved Mountain Fern. Selected for the quality of its foliage, this genuine natural fern undergoes a preservation process combined with a specific Anti-UV treatment, designed to improve its resistance to light and help preserve the intensity of its colour for longer in very bright environments.

Graphic foliage for volume and depth

Its finely cut foliage creates a particularly graphic effect and instantly adds volume, texture and depth to botanical creations. Its natural silhouette is ideal for structuring preserved green walls, botanical frames, green ceilings, event decorations and high-end floral arrangements.

Flexible, lightweight and easy to handle, the Anti-UV Preserved Mountain Fern can easily be incorporated into projects of different sizes. It can be used to create layered effects, fill out an arrangement or add a more natural and generous finish to botanical installations.

Anti-UV treatment for improved resistance to light

The fern undergoes the same colouring and preservation process as our standard products, followed by an additional coating specifically designed to improve lightfastness.

Thanks to this additional treatment, it is particularly suitable for very bright indoor spaces, including areas near shop windows, beneath glass roofs, in hotel lobbies, restaurants, retail spaces or showrooms receiving significant levels of natural light.

The Anti-UV treatment helps to slow down foliage discolouration and preserve its green colour for longer, making it particularly suitable for botanical decoration projects exposed to demanding lighting conditions.

Light resistance tested for one year

To evaluate the performance of the treatment, a one-year light resistance test was conducted at an exposure level of 18,000 lux, including UV rays.

These test conditions simulate a product being displayed indoors in a sunny location near a window for more than 5 years. At the end of the test period, the green colour of the foliage was largely preserved.

For comparison, typical lighting levels are approximately:

  • 500 to 750 lux in offices;
  • 1,000 to 3,000 lux in commercial facilities with spot lighting;
  • 18,000 lux under the exposure conditions used for the light resistance test.

These results demonstrate the good colour retention achieved under high levels of light exposure.

Estimated durability of approximately 5 years behind glass

Based on the results obtained from the 18,000-lux exposure test, the product is estimated to last approximately 5 years when displayed indoors behind glass.

However, this period is an estimate based on the test conditions and does not constitute a guarantee of service life. Preservation may vary depending on the environment, particularly according to the intensity and duration of light exposure, temperature and, above all, humidity levels.

Like all preserved plants, the mountain fern remains particularly sensitive to humidity. Unsuitable indoor conditions may therefore significantly reduce its lifespan.

A long-lasting solution for professional projects

Ideal for interior designers, decorators, fit-out professionals, set designers and botanical decoration specialists, the Anti-UV Preserved Mountain Fern is particularly suitable for long-lasting botanical installations in hotels, restaurants, retail spaces, showrooms, shop windows and bright reception areas.

Like all preserved plants, it requires no watering, pruning or special maintenance. It therefore provides the aesthetic qualities of a genuine natural plant while significantly reducing maintenance requirements.

Recommendations for use

Although its Anti-UV treatment significantly improves its resistance to light, the preserved mountain fern remains a natural preserved plant. The treatment therefore does not make it completely resistant to the effects of UV rays, heat or humidity.

To preserve its appearance for as long as possible, indoor use is recommended. Its lifespan depends on actual exposure conditions and may be reduced by high humidity, contact with water or particularly demanding environmental conditions.

The estimated lifespan of approximately 5 years behind glass is based on the results of the one-year test conducted at 18,000 lux and should be considered as an indication of performance rather than a guarantee of lifespan.

Characteristics

Note: weight and dimensions are for general guidance only. It is a natural product and therefore the colours may vary depending on the bunch.

General recommendations

Stabilised plants are 100% natural. They can only be exposed inside. They require no maintenance, no watering and no special light. They keep their freshness and flexibility for several years. A few tips to keep your stabilised plants looking fresh:

  • Handle the plants with care and delicacy (natural plants are therefore fragile).
  • Avoid rooms with a relative humidity of over 80%. Use these products in interiors where the temperature is not lower than 10°C.
  • Avoid sudden fluctuations in temperature.
  • Avoid placing stabilised plants directly in front of air conditioning.
